Education on Sustainable Development Goals and Zero Waste for Student Clubs
✨Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University continues its efforts towards a sustainable campus and zero waste vision.
On 21 October 2025, our Sustainability Office Coordinator and member of the Zero Waste Commission, Prof. Dr. Nilgün AYMAN ÖZ, provided training to student clubs on the Sustainable Development Goals and Zero Waste topics. Our university continues to raise awareness and provide information so that the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be integrated into the curriculum, thesis, projects, and activities of our students and academic staff. Furthermore, in line with its zero waste vision, our university prioritises the prevention/reduction of waste generation, the reuse of waste, and advanced recycling practices. At our university, electronic devices are updated and furniture waste is repaired for reuse; sharing unused clothing, books, furniture, etc. for reuse through swap fairs and social media sharing sites; and reducing/preventing organic waste generation by determining meal menus through surveys. Clubs have been informed about how they can pay attention to waste management during club activities, both in terms of zero waste and SDGs.
