The International Zero Waste Forum
✨The International Zero Waste Forum, hosted by the Zero Waste Foundation in Istanbul between 17-19 October 2025, brought together representatives from over a hundred countries, public institutions, civil society organisations, the private sector, and universities. Our Sustainability Office Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Nilgün AYMAN ÖZ, a member of the Zero Waste Commission, attended the forum on behalf of our university. Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University continues to represent its sustainable campus and zero waste vision on national/international platforms and to carry out work in this direction. At our university, electronic devices are updated and furniture waste is repaired and put back into use; sharing unused clothing, books, furniture, etc. for reuse through swap fairs and social media sharing sites; and reducing/preventing organic waste generation by determining meal menus through surveys. In addition, our faculty members and students are carrying out numerous projects, such as developing new materials/products from waste and using waste materials in artistic objects.
